Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Halv ("we", "us", operated by MAOLAB) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile app and website.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email address and basic profile information to create and manage your account.

Profile information: To calculate personalized nutrition targets, you provide information such as your age, height, weight, activity level, fitness goals, dietary preferences, and any food allergies you choose to enter.

Recipes and activity: When you convert a recipe, we process the public video link you provide to generate a macro-friendly recipe. Your saved recipes, conversion history, and daily log (the recipes you choose to add to a day in the tracker, along with their calorie and macronutrient values) let you return to past results and follow your progress. If you use Halv as a guest (without signing in), your saved recipes, conversion history, and daily log stay only on your device and are not sent to our servers. When you sign in, this content is synced to your account so it stays available and backed up across your devices. The daily log records only recipe display information (title, and the calories/protein/carbs/fat you logged) and the day you logged it — it is not a medical or body-measurement record. We do not download or host the original videos or their thumbnail images; we may keep a link to a video's thumbnail so you can recognize past conversions.

Payment information: Subscription payments are processed by RevenueCat and the respective app stores (Apple App Store, Google Play). We do not store your full payment card details.

Usage & analytics: We collect anonymous product-analytics events (for example, app opens, recipe conversions, and shares) tied to a randomly generated device identifier — and, if you are signed in, your account ID — to measure and improve the app. We do not include your body metrics or other sensitive profile data in analytics. Our website also uses Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to understand aggregate traffic and performance.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide recipe conversion and nutrition calculation
• Personalize your experience based on your goals
• Save your recipes, conversion history, and daily log
• Process subscriptions and manage your account
• Improve our services and develop new features
• Communicate with you about your account or support requests

3. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following service providers only as needed to operate Halv:

• Supabase — database and authentication
• RevenueCat — subscription management
• Google Gemini — AI-powered recipe extraction and translation
• Apple / Google — sign-in and app store services
• Vercel — website hosting and privacy-friendly traffic analytics

These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security commitments. We do not sell your personal information.

4. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your associated data from our servers, except where retention is required by law.

5. Your Rights

You can:

• Access and update your profile in the app
• Delete your saved recipes, conversion history, and daily log
• Delete your account and associated data at any time (Settings → Delete Account)

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

7. Children's Privacy

Halv is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. International Users

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. By using Halv, you consent to this transfer.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified through the app or website. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
